One of the most frequent questions when interviewing a potential employee is, “What benefits are offered?” How do you answer this question? Do you rattle of the typical offerings, like medical, dental, vision, or do you offer unique benefits to further loyalty within the company? Believe it or not, most companies are leaning to more flexible work hours and coming around to be more “family friendly.”
We rounded up a few unique benefits….and the companies that are promoting work-life balance.
Unique Benefits Offered to Employees
The coolest up and coming trend in the workforce is providing the freedom to balance out your workload and your family life. That’s why these benefits hit the top of our list…
1. Flex Hours. That’s right. No more 9 to 5! Many up and coming companies like Netflix aren’t enforcing a strict timecard. They’re measured strictly by the work that is accomplished while working. With these flexible hours, mobile time and attendance solutions are ideal because they allow employees to clock into work whenever, wherever.
2. Family Focus. We’ve all heard the stories about Facebook. And they are true! New parents are offered four months of paid maternity and paternity leave to adjust to their brand new blessing, as well as being reimbursed for child care expenses while working. Showing your employees that their employer does care about their family life encourages loyalty. Why would they want to work anywhere else?
3. Debt Reimbursement. This is one many college grads could get behind. Student loans make getting a start on life tough, so some companies are easing that burden by offering reimbursement for their student debt. For example, PwC offers employees $1,200 a year strictly dedicated to knocking out the student loan debt.
Now that you are aware of some of the most unique offerings by employers, what are some of the things you do to keep your employees happy?
